Xapiens Supports the Implementation of the Personal Data Protection Law through Information Security Awareness Training for Employees

Data breaches are not solely caused by inadequate technological security devices. Often, this is a result of negligent practices in the field. For instance, some employees share files through non-private channels, such as mobile chat apps on their personal devices.

Data breaches are not solely caused by inadequate technological security devices. Often, this is a result of negligent practices in the field. For instance, some employees share files through non-private channels, such as mobile chat apps on their personal devices. Law No. 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (PDP Law) regulates the importance of companies safeguarding data security. If a company is found to have leaked or violated the processing of personal data of its customers, it can be subjected to fines ranging from 4 to 50 billion Indonesian rupiahs and criminal penalties of 4 to 6 years, including corporate dissolution.

From a non-material perspective, a company's reputation is also inevitably impacted by the loss of trust from customers. Responding to this issue, PT Xapiens Teknologi Indonesia (Xapiens) organized a public webinar titled "Merdeka! Dari Ancaman Siber – Perkuat Kesiapan SDM dalam Menghadapi Serangan Siber di Era Digital” to help prevent cyber attacks from infiltrating companies through their employees.

The webinar took place on August 23, 2023, and provided solutions from SANS Cyber Security Awareness. SANS Institute's Cyber Security Awareness is a global leader in providing cybersecurity training focused on individuals and company employees. Xapiens is one of the SANS Institute's partners in Indonesia. The webinar received a positive response, with the participation of 100 attendees. Participant enthusiasm was evident through the numerous questions posed on the online meeting platform and YouTube stream.

This serves as evidence that cybersecurity awareness at the employee level needs further enhancement, considering that employees are the primary targets in cyber attacks that can lead to the loss of critical company data.

Xapiens demonstrates its commitment to supporting the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law) in Indonesia overall and specifically within companies through Information Security Awareness Training for Employees

Xapiens demonstrates its commitment to supporting the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law) in Indonesia overall and specifically within companies. This commitment was exemplified by Xapiens' participation in the National Forum on Personal Data Protection, held on August 30-31, 2022. The event was organized by CBQA Global in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Information in Bali.

Mr. Muhamad Nursahid, Director & CEO of Xapiens Teknologi Indonesia, was also invited as a speaker on the second day of the event, presenting the topic "Kesadaran Keamanan Informasi dalam Perlindungan Data Pribadi pada Organisasi & Perusahaan." He also participated in a panel discussion alongside panelists from various other reputable companies.

It is hoped that through the National Forum on Personal Data Protection, society will become more conscious of safeguarding their personal data to prevent misuse by irresponsible parties. In terms of implications for companies, the security of company data must also be maintained, as there may be personal data that requires protection. It would be wise for companies to start investing in securing their data in this digital era.
