Increase Your Cyber Security Resilience: Effective Strategies Against AI Social Engineering Attacks

Xapiens Teknologi Indonesia and SANS Institute collaborated in Xapiens Meet and Learn webinar entitled "Effective Strategies in Facing AI Social Engineering Attacks".

In a rapidly progressing digital era, cyber security has become a major focus for companies and individuals around the world. The increasingly sophisticated and complex threats, especially from attacks using artificial intelligence (AI), demand deep understanding and effective strategies to protect data and systems. In this context, it is important to provide a platform for professionals and stakeholders to exchange knowledge and experience.

In response to this matter, Xapiens Teknologi Indonesia along with SANS Institute collaborated to hold Xapiens Meet and Learn, a webinar titled "Effective Strategies Against AI Social Engineering Attacks" with the aim of providing in-depth and practical insights for participants so that they can increase their cyber security resilience. The event, which took place on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, was attended by 121 participants and broadcasted live via online meeting platforms and YouTube streaming.

The event was opened with a welcome speech from Mr. Djati Wicaksono, as the Director of Xapiens Teknologi Indonesia. Next, three expert speakers explained their presentation material related to the main theme. Ms. Restia Moegiono, a Cyber Security Practitioner, discussed awareness of phishing that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI). Ms. Meagan Tudge, Sr. EMPAC Manager at SANS Security Awareness, focused her discussion on effective strategies against AI social engineering attacks. Meanwhile, Mr. Dimas Jeyraff, Xapiens Cyber Security Manager, explained about the effective cyber security implementation.

Risk mitigation is not a task carried out solely by the cybersecurity team, but is a shared responsibility to ensure that systems and information remain safe from cyber-attacks.

From the discussion, the speakers agreed that awareness of cyber security is not only the responsibility of companies, but also individuals. Risk mitigation is not a task carried out solely by the cybersecurity team, but is a shared responsibility to ensure that systems and information remain safe from cyber-attacks. With the right education and information and the implementation of effective security policies and controls, organizations and individuals can proactively combat increasingly complex and evolving cybersecurity threats.

Xapiens Meet and Learn (XML)—a regular Xapiens program—this time takes the theme of an approach to increasing awareness and education about cyber security in the digital era. The speakers provided valuable insights for the participants in understanding and dealing with AI Social Engineering threats. By understanding and implementing the right strategies, organizations and individuals can improve their cybersecurity and minimize the risk of attacks, including AI Social Engineering.
